As you are coming to the end of your figurative language webquest, you have completed the Salamander Jones webquest challenge, your personal written account, and an oral presentation. You’ve been thinking about the essential questions throughout the whole challenge. Now think about the following questions. Choose one question and reflect on it in your literacy journal. Last, generate your own unit-encompassing question to include in your entry.
Questions: Should writers be required to write using figurative language? Why or why not? What genres of writing is figurative language most suited for? What effect does figurative language have on its readers? When something is described using figurative language, how is it different than plainly describing it? How are illustrations and figurative language similar? How are they different?
You are now a master of figurative language!
